New York City is under siege as crime runs rampant in the streets. Mayor Eric Adams ran on a campaign of public safety. He was elected to keep our children and families safe. Currently, our communities are not safe because of rampant gun violence, assaults, and the mentally ill and homeless crisis, a situation he inherited.
This is why a majority of New Yorkers disapprove of his handling of crime. This is reflected in the big dip in his approval rating. New Yorkers are losing confidence in his ability to follow through on his promise to improve public safety.
We need Mayor Adams to listen to the silent majority. Hire more police officers, increase the beat cops, and the anti-gun units. The violence in our streets has spilled into our schools. Children are bringing weapons to school to protect themselves in transit because the streets are unsafe. We need him to stop the hemorrhaging.
If the police are not safe, if the child of an NYPD officer isn’t safe, no child is safe and no New Yorker is safe.
