On Saturday, March 16th, residents of Falls Township, PA, and surrounding areas, woke up to a shelter-in-place alert after an armed assailant, identified as Andre Gordon, shot and killed two people in Levittown, across the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border.
The shooting, which occurred around 8:50 am, was followed by Gordon, 26, shooting and killing another person a few blocks after the first incident before fleeing the scene.
Gordon reportedly hijacked a car at gunpoint. The victim of the car hijacking was reportedly uninjured. A few hours later, the stolen vehicle was found abandoned in Trenton, New Jersey.
The Trenton Police Department, in collaboration with the Falls Township Police Department, Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Police, and the FBI, announced that around 1:15 pm, SWAT teams had located and set up a parameter around a house in Trenton where it is believed that Gordon had barricaded himself with hostages.
The SWAT team successfully evacuated the hostages, leading to a multi-hour standoff that ended at 5:15 when the Mayor of Trenton confirmed that Gordon was in police custody.
